Features: Lucio Fontana (1899–1968) was the founder and advocate of a powerful modern art movement that emerged in Italy after World War II—Spazialismo. Fontana was born in Santa Fe, Argentina, with both parents being Italian; his father was a sculptor. In 1905, the family moved to Milan. Fontana grew up in Milan and studied sculpture at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts in Milan. In 1930, he held his first solo exhibition of abstract sculpture, and in 1934, he joined the Parisian art group "Création—Abstraction." The creation of an artwork should integrate psychological elements such as color, sound, and movement to create the fundamental forms of a new four-dimensional art. His artistic journey was highly innovative, discovering an infinite cosmic space.
