Features: The target users of this dictionary are primarily primary and secondary school teachers and students, as well as educated youth, with supplementary reference for readers engaged in written work. The dictionary is divided into four parts: "Words and Phrases Easily Misread," "Words and Phrases Easily Miswritten," "Words and Phrases Easily Misused," and "Words and Phrases Easily Confused." Each part is arranged separately, with a separate table of contents for each part preceding the main text. The table of contents for the "Words and Phrases Easily Confused" section also includes a phonetic index for that part. All entries are arranged in alphabetical order by the first character, and the romanization follows the Hanyu Pinyin Scheme for standard Mandarin pronunciation, with all pinyin written separately.
The "Words and Phrases Easily Misread" section includes approximately 240 commonly misread characters and phrases. Each entry, in addition to romanization, generally includes the misreading situation and its cause, the correct pronunciation, and relevant explanations.
The "Words and Phrases Easily Miswritten" section contains approximately 450 commonly miswritten characters and phrases. Each entry, in addition to romanization, generally includes the miswriting situation and its cause, the correct writing, and relevant explanations.
The "Words and Phrases Easily Misused" section includes approximately 420 commonly misused characters and phrases. Each entry, in addition to romanization, generally includes definitions, example sentences, misused examples, and analyses. The "Definitions" section typically explains only the easily misused meanings of a word or phrase and does not necessarily list all its meanings.
The "Words and Phrases Easily Confused" section includes approximately 310 commonly confused character pairs. It includes distinctions between synonyms (or near-synonyms) and easily confused non-synonyms. In addition to romanization, the former includes explanations of similarities and differences, analysis, and examples, with some entries also providing examples of confusion and analysis. The latter includes definitions, examples, and explanations of differences, with some entries also providing examples of confusion and analysis.
The example sentences illustrating correct usage may be attributed to specific authors and titles, while adapted or self-written sentences are not attributed.
