Features: 2006 Original Online Military Novel! This could be considered a unique work commemorating the 60th anniversary of the Anti-Japanese War. Xiao Jianyang, a sniper, one person, one gun, silent, precise, calm, aloof, mysterious, with a touch of heroism. I feel like he's more like a cool assassin, and a stylish one at that, with a distinctive style in his killing methods: "Before shooting, he habitually brings his right hand to his lips, gently blows on the index finger, and then calmly places the finger on the cold trigger." However, this assassin's operational range has been shifted to the Anti-Japanese War battlefield. The storyline is simple, but gripping, drawing readers in one after another, making it an engaging work. Moreover, the book incorporates a lot of military knowledge, showing that the author is indeed a military enthusiast, otherwise, the detailed descriptions of various firearms and ammunition wouldn't be so professional.
Set against the backdrop of real historical events, the book employs a realistic writing style of "trench realism," portraying the fierce and tragic aspects of the great Anti-Japanese War from the perspective of an ordinary soldier. The protagonist, Xiao Jianyang, was originally the descendant of a hunter from Northeast China, growing up with a hunting rifle and honing a skillful marksmanship. After the "September 18th Incident," he joined the Anti-Japanese Volunteer Army with his father. After the Volunteer Army's defeat, he fled into the interior and joined an Anti-Japanese unit. During the Shanghai-Burma Campaign, to avenge the death of his company commander, he infiltrated the enemy lines alone, killing 17 Japanese soldiers in a row with just 22 rounds of ammunition before escaping unharmed.
After the Shanghai-Burma Campaign ended, Xiao Jianyang joined his unit in the brutal Battle of Nanjing. On the banks of the Yangtze River in Nanjing, he witnessed the Japanese massacre of Chinese civilians, deeply enraged by their atrocities. He shouldered his beloved rifle and resolutely returned to Nanjing, determined to avenge his fallen compatriots with his own ammunition.
