First, we studied the Five Evolutions and Six Climates theory in the Yellow Emperor's Inner Canon, discovering that abnormal climatic changes are the primary cause of disease outbreaks. This finding is supported by statistical evidence from historical records of epidemic outbreaks, which shows that social and political factors only influence the severity of epidemics, not their occurrence.
Second, based on historical documents, we organized the occurrence of epidemics over the past two thousand years due to climatic abnormalities according to the 60-year Jiazi cycle of the Five Evolutions and Six Climates theory, identifying patterns in the frequency of epidemics. We also determined the regions where epidemics occurred, known as the theory of epidemic distribution. By examining climatic changes, time, and space, we explored the patterns of epidemic outbreaks and epidemics, contributing to future prevention efforts.
Furthermore, we examined the clinical experiences of renowned medical practitioners in treating epidemics, summarizing their principles of theory, methods, and herbal formulas for treating epidemics, as well as their preventive measures. This lays a solid foundation for future prevention and treatment of epidemics.
This book not only provides an in-depth study of the systematic theory of the Five Evolutions and Six Climates theory in predicting climatic abnormalities leading to epidemics but also explores the distribution of epidemic-prone regions, aiming to enable early detection of epidemics. Additionally, it includes the clinical experiences of in treating epidemics, serving as a reference for practitioners to avoid mistakes in practice.
