[Content Summary] Zeng Jianhui was born in 1928 in Pingjiang County, Hunan Province. He graduated from Tsinghua University, is a member of the Communist Party of China, and has served as Deputy Director of Xinhua News Agency, Deputy Minister of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China's Propaganda Department, Deputy Leader of the Central Foreign Publicity Group, Deputy Director and Director of the Central Foreign Publicity Office and the State Council Information Office, Deputy Leader of the Leading Group of the Central Propaganda and Ideological Work, and Standing Committee Member and Director of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Ninth National People's Congress. After the liberation of Beijing in the spring of 1949, he was transferred to the English Broadcasting Department of Xinhua Broadcasting Station (the predecessor of the Xinhua News Agency's Foreign News Department), marking the beginning of his career in the Party's news and foreign publicity work. He worked continuously in the Party's news and publicity positions for 50 years. He led and participated in the foreign reporting of the repatriation of "United Nations Command" prisoners of war in North Korea during the Korean War, and led and participated in the foreign reporting of the National People's Congress and the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference sessions, Party Congresses, major state affairs, and political foreign affairs activities of major central leaders such as Chairman Mao and Premier Zhou from 1954 to 1966. From 1978 to 1997, he led and participated in the domestic and foreign reporting of the trial of the "Gang of Four," the 8th Asian Games in Bangkok, and the first Chinese team's participation in the 23rd Los Angeles Olympics. He led or participated in the domestic and foreign publicity reporting of the National People's Congress and the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference sessions, the 12th, 13th, 14th, and 15th Party Congresses, the return of Hong Kong, and the compilation of a series of white papers on issues such as human rights and Tibet. During his time at Xinhua News Agency, he wrote many influential news reports, such as reports accompanying Vice Premier Deng Xiaoping's visits to Japan, Thailand, Malaysia, and Singapore; "Zhongnanhai Chronicle": "Always Thinking of the 800 Million Farmers," "Spring in Zhongnanhai," "Old and New Succession, Continuity and Development" (on the 12th Party Congress), and "The 'United Nations Command' Prisoners Say: There Was No 'Death March'." During his tenure as Director of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Ninth National People's Congress, he promoted "parliamentary diplomacy" between China and dozens of countries, especially the United States, and delivered over 100 meaningful speeches during frequent foreign activities. Zeng was a representative of the 12th, 14th, and 15th Party Congresses of the Communist Party of China, and a member of the Sixth, Seventh, Eighth, and Ninth National People's Congresses, as well as a Standing Committee Member of the Ninth National People's Congress. In 1955, he was selected as a "National Youth Socialist Construction Active Member."
