Features: This textbook primarily covers the fundamental content of jurisprudence, including four main parts: the basic theory of law, the value theory of law, the operational theory of law, and the theory of the rule of law state. Its main feature is that the textbook was developed based on reforms in the teaching of traditional jurisprudence. The Jurisprudence Teaching and Research Office of Southwest University of Political Science and Law began this teaching reform in 1996, transforming the single course of "Basic Theory of Law" or "Jurisprudence" into two separate courses: "Introduction to Law" and "Jurisprudence." The "Jurisprudence" course should be offered after students have completed the core courses in departmental law and before they take the postgraduate entrance examination for master's degrees. It provides an in-depth lecture on jurisprudence or legal philosophy for students who have already studied departmental law, deepening their understanding of departmental law and further cultivating their legal awareness. Since its publication in 1998, this textbook has undergone three revisions. The current edition is the fourth version. The fourth edition represents significant revisions based on the third edition. The revision of the textbook content was driven by both the development of understanding and theory, gradually reducing the political and class connotations in the basic concepts and theories of law while emphasizing the specialization and academic rigor of legal theory. Additionally, the revision reflects the compilers' relentless pursuit of textbook quality and the teaching process itself. The textbook has been adjusted in certain chapters to refine the theoretical key points and content. The compilers hope that through this revision, the textbook will continue to improve and reach perfection.
