Features: The inefficiency of specialized ability training is a common phenomenon, which puzzles teachers and frustrates students. The main reason lies in the lack of systematic, scientific, and rigorous training. To enhance students' awareness of scientific training and strengthen micro-skills in various areas, we have compiled this series of High School English "Longmen Special Topics," including "Grammar," "Listening Training," "Multiple Choice," "Cloze," "Reading Comprehension," and "Written Expression," totaling six volumes. When compiling this subject, we strive to adhere to the following principles:
Gradual Progression: We emphasize the integration of training and practice, with practice as the primary focus and training as the secondary. Each specialized area begins with micro-skill training, systematically introducing fundamental knowledge and basic skills. In individual training, foundational knowledge is applied to master basic skills; in comprehensive training, all abilities are comprehensively improved, truly achieving gradual progression.
Concise Explanation and Practice: The content of explanation and practice is closely aligned with the key points, hot topics, and difficulties of the college entrance examination, avoiding vague discussions. Each exercise generally reflects a specific knowledge point or certain aspects of it, eliminating generic exercises. We prioritize meaningful exercises, even in single-sentence practice, by creating micro-contexts and ensuring the authenticity of the language. Based on actual teaching conditions, the total volume of exercises is controlled to avoid repetitive and inefficient practice. The "Answer and Analysis" focuses on analyzing the thought process and methods, with commentary aimed at precision and conciseness.
Novel and Unique: The "Question Characteristics" and "Exam Strategies" sections are based on the college entrance examination guidelines, referencing the requirements of the new high school curriculum standards, and following the patterns and trends of college entrance examination question-setting, effectively addressing key, hot, and difficult points. The "Error Analysis" helps students identify gaps and improve their error-correction skills. The questions in the "College Entrance Examination Warm-up" section are mostly selected from influential joint exams and mock exams from recent years across various regions, ensuring high quality.
Practical and Efficient: Explanation and practice are integrated, with concise explanations following each exercise, making the arrangement compact and highly convenient for students. The "Answer and Analysis" focuses on the abstraction of specific problems, deepening students' grasp of knowledge points and enhancing their ability to transfer knowledge. The content of each book is interconnected and complementary, maximizing the integration of knowledge points and effectively improving learning efficiency.
During the compilation process, we drew on the latest research findings in the field of college entrance examinations, referenced the essence of similar materials, and learned from the valuable experiences of regions with outstanding performance in college entrance examinations. However, due to time and limitations, there may be omissions in the book, and we welcome your corrections.
