Delicious food is a carrier that conveys joy in people's hearts. When I first received the invitation from MBC TV to write this book, I hesitated for a long time. Because the court system is rarely known to outsiders, it made me ponder how to showcase the delicious dishes of the court. However, upon further reflection, isn't our daily diet derived from court cuisine? From ingredients to cooking methods, to the way the table is set, these inheritances and developments of court dining culture make us feel particularly close and warm. Some may still wonder if the food we eat today is the same as the imperial dish from back then. MBC TV's drama Dae Jang Geum introduced the beautifully crafted and heartwarming dishes of the Joseon Dynasty court in a unique way, winning widespread popularity. Now, through this book, we can see the dishes that were once only served in the court. I hope that the Korean-style court dining culture, rich in Korean characteristics, will be inherited and further developed, making Korean cuisine renowned worldwide. Preparing a meal for others may be more meaningful than enjoying it alone. I truly hope that in the days to come, we can daily adorn our tables with carefully prepared dishes, making life more flavorful. Finally, I would like to thank MBC TV and (Corp.)
