Features: The discovery of the Xianggang Nanyue King's Tomb is no less than opening a treasure trove of historical and cultural heritage in the Lingnan region. In the 1970s, a shipbuilding site from the Qin Dynasty's unification of the Lingnan region was found in the old city area of Guangzhou on Zhongshan Fourth Road. In the 1980s, the Nanyue King's Tomb was discovered, and in the 1990s, the Nanyue Kingdom's palace site was found. These three major discoveries are hailed as the three great archaeological finds of Guangzhou during the Qin and Han dynasties. Because these three sites were all discovered during construction projects and were subsequently protected on-site, they are regarded as exemplary models in the field of cultural relic archaeology, embodying principles of excavation, protection, reasonable utilization, and enhanced management. We have selected typical excavation cases, striving to include as much information as possible about the entire process of a particular excavation, as well as data helpful in understanding the ancient history of the site, such as historical background and geographical environment.
