Features: Since the publication of Comprehensive Analysis of Postgraduate Entrance Exam English, it has received widespread praise from candidates across the country. In line with the spirit of the Ministry of Education's Teaching Office document [2004]14, starting from 2005, the listening test in the national postgraduate entrance exam English paper was moved to the second round of the exam, replaced by new reading comprehension questions and short essay writing. The new syllabus has also revised the vocabulary list, increasing the total word count to 5,500 words and removing Chinese definitions. Additionally, entries for common prefixes and suffixes have been added, along with tables of some countries (or regions), languages, nationalities, and abbreviations. To keep pace with the development of the national postgraduate entrance exam trend and meet the needs of candidates, we have comprehensively revised Comprehensive Analysis of Postgraduate Entrance Exam English (Volumes 1 and 2) and formed the current Comprehensive Analysis of Postgraduate Entrance Exam English (Second Edition). The main revisions include:
1. Merging the two volumes of the First Edition into one, arranging the relevant exercises and explanations from the second volume after the analysis and explanation of each unit, and placing several self-assessment mock tests at the end of the last unit.
2. Removing the listening section explanations and strategies from the second unit of the First Edition, shifting the remaining units up accordingly, and combining the original six units into five. The 2006 postgraduate entrance exam mock test is now the sixth unit.
3. Adding new reading comprehension question types and dedicated writing practice for application essays in line with the syllabus, along with targeted exercises for these new question types and writing tasks.
4. Modifying and enriching the exercises in each unit of the First Edition by adding, deleting, and adjusting content. Removing the 2002–2004 postgraduate entrance exam questions and annotations, while adding the original 2005 national postgraduate entrance exam paper and detailed analysis to the appendix.
5. Adjusting the layout of the First Edition to highlight key points and make explanations clear and easy to follow, facilitating candidate learning.
The revision and publication of the Comprehensive Analysis of Postgraduate Entrance Exam English (Second Edition) were greatly supported by Science Press. Through communication with readers, we have also received valuable feedback, which we sincerely appreciate.
