The Xiling Seal Society was founded after photography was introduced to China, so over the past century, the collection of photographic images it has preserved is quite remarkable. Recently, through the sincere cooperation of members both within and outside the society, extensive research and collection have been conducted, resulting in the compilation of "A Century of Xiling Seal Society: Illustrated History," which aims to supplement the shortcomings of historical records. This work has made great contributions to enriching the historical records of the society, promoting its traditions, and advancing its academic pursuits.
Over the past century, our Xiling Seal Society has weathered vicissitudes and has gained fame both domestically and internationally. The development of academic studies is naturally a matter of course, and the compilation of the society's history is an urgent task. However, to compile the society's history, one must first thoroughly study historical materials, and to study historical materials thoroughly, one must seek their authenticity. Currently, there are three sets of historical records of the society, which vary in content, and the memories of different individuals also differ. Only photographic images can be trusted, making them particularly valuable.
With the rapid advancement of modern technology, photography and video recording have become widely. Using these means to document the facts of the society and continue its history allows both internal and external members to understand the origins and purposes of the Xiling Seal Society, dedicate themselves to inheriting traditional culture, promoting the spirit of the nation, and advancing the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. This is also the subtle aim of compiling this "Illustrated History."
