Features: China is a multi-ethnic country with a long history of 5,000 years. In its continuous historical development, it has formed many distinctive traditional festivals with diverse forms and rich content. Festivals are an important carrier of the spirit and emotions of the Chinese nation. Festival culture is deeply rooted among the people, possessing a strong and vibrant vitality. Through the passage of time, it has gradually become a precious heritage of the splendid Chinese nation. The origin and development of festivals is a gradual process of formation, perfection, and gradual integration into social life. They are a product of human society's development to a certain stage. The advancement of social productivity, the continuous improvement of people's living standards, and the emergence and frequent activities of religion have provided the possibility for the birth and development of festivals. Many of the ancient Chinese seasonal festivals were closely related to the continuous enrichment of astronomical, calendrical, and pedagogical knowledge. Later, the lunar calendar festivals, in particular, had a close connection with the origin of traditional festivals. By the Han Dynasty (206 BC–220 AD), the twenty-four solar terms had basically been established. The solar terms provided the prerequisite for the emergence of festivals, namely, as the seasons and time changed throughout the year, people formed different folk activities and sacrificial ceremonies representing their good wishes during productive labor. Festivals were formed on this basis.
