Introduction: This book is one of the series "Occupational Hazards and Protection Technology." It provides a detailed introduction to common occupational harmful factors in production environments and their potential health hazards to workers. It covers the pathogenic factors of major diseases listed in China's occupational disease directory. On this basis, it elaborates on the occupational health and safety management system and occupational health management and services in line with China's current occupational safety and health status.
The book is divided into two parts. The first part primarily introduces various occupational harmful factors that may exist in production environments, including the identification and detection of occupational harmful factors (Chapter 1); the physicochemical characteristics of common toxic substances, dust, physical hazards, and harmful factors in the labor process, the mechanisms of body injury, clinical manifestations of diseases caused by these factors, as well as prevention methods and control measures for harmful factors (Chapters 2–5); medical emergency responses in chemical and catastrophic accidents (Chapter 6), and an introduction to occupational health management systems abroad (Chapter 7).
The second part focuses on occupational health, safety, and management knowledge, combining case studies to detail the content and methods of occupational health services, health protection measures for specific populations, health-preserving diets for different occupational groups, and workplace smoke control (Chapter 8); occupational safety management and the analysis and preventive measures for work-related accidents (Chapter 9); and a comprehensive introduction to existing occupational health standards, the occupational health and safety management system, as well as education and training programs for workers (Chapter 10).
This book is suitable for occupational health workers, managers at various levels engaged in enterprise health and safety management and supervision, as well as faculty and students of relevant higher education institutions for study and reference.
