Features: The core focus of this textbook is the theory and practice of "news communication" in the broadcasting and television industry. Given the current state of the industry, standardized news interviewing and production in broadcasting and television must be emphasized. Since broadcasting media possess advanced communication technology, they should demand stronger timeliness and a more accurate reflection of reality. However, due to the lack of professionalism, many electronic media fail to demonstrate advantages in news timeliness, with staged news becoming commonplace, making it difficult for audiences to distinguish between performative news and actual scenes. It is hoped that the publication of this textbook can deeply illustrate the characteristics of broadcasting and television, clarify the norms of news communication in broadcasting media, and enable people to scientifically and rationally utilize radio and television for their own benefit, rather than becoming slaves to electronic media.
TV cinematography is both a technology and an art—a fact beyond dispute. From a technical perspective, TV cinematography simply involves operating and using television cameras to smoothly capture the desired images and record sound. However, from an artistic standpoint, TV cinematography is a form of creation, a new way of thinking, and a method and means of mastering dual audio-visual language symbols. With the rapid development of the broadcasting and television industry, there is a growing need for dedicated professionals in this noble field. Higher education institutions, particularly journalism and communication departments, serve as important bases for training specialized talent for the broadcasting and television industry. Therefore, for students of journalism, advertising, and especially broadcasting and television news, learning to use television cameras, understanding the fundamental theoretical knowledge of TV cinematography, mastering professional techniques, and ultimately treating cinematography as an artistic creative tool is not only essential for improving their cultural literacy but also necessary for entering the broadcasting and television industry and excelling in news gathering, writing, editing, and criticism.
