Features: The famous courtesan Liu Shishi from Qinhuai fell in love with the scholar Chen Zilong, but her status as a courtesan was rejected by Chen's family. Later, the renowned scholar Qian Qianyi, at the age of fifty-eight, disregarded public scorn and married Liu Shishi in a grand ceremony. However, the happiness was short-lived. Amidst the chaos of war, Qian Qianyi's betrayal and Chen Zilong's death unfolded a tragic tale around Liu Shishi, a story that became a legend for generations.
In her next life, Liu Shishi is Yang Ai, a university student from a remote rural village. After her heartbreak from the playboy professor Chen Zhilong, she becomes despondent. Eventually, she enters the Red House bar and becomes its top star. Later, she is forced to leave the bar after refusing to entertain a Japanese guest on the National Humiliation Day. Chen Zhilong's return, the mysterious gift from a wealthy patron, the appearance of the Japanese writer Yamaguchi, and the raid on the Red House—these events draw her step by step into the memories of her past life. When all these characters appear, she feels bewildered. Familiar faces, similar events—could this be another repetition of Liu Shishi's fate three hundred years ago?
