Huanggang High School, founded in 1904 in Huanggang, Hubei Province, was designated as a key high school in Hubei Province in 1953 and was awarded the title of "Advanced Unit in the Education System of China" in 1986. In 2002, it was recognized as an "Advanced Unit in the Construction of Spiritual Civilization in China."
Huanggang High School upholds the educational philosophy of "people-oriented, with virtue as the foundation," forming a distinctive educational characteristic of "comprehensive development with specialized strengths." It has explored a teaching style characterized by "seeking truth, striving for excellence, embracing diversity, and pursuing innovation." The outstanding performance in college entrance exams and competitions is a natural result of its long-term implementation of quality education, and only one aspect of its abundant teaching achievements.
When it comes to cultivating students, what magic formula does Huanggang High School possess? What ability does it have to turn sand into a tower? What skill does it have to turn stone into gold? These are questions I often hear. If one thinks that Huanggang High School merely follows the (command) of college entrance exams and passively engages in test-taking, that would be incorrect. Huanggang High School does not advocate rote memorization or passive problem-solving. If it has any exceptional qualities, it lies in its ability to fully understand the intentions of test-setters and deeply grasp their underlying principles, becoming a leader rather than a blind follower.
Huanggang High School does not oppose teachers immersing themselves in a sea of problems but strongly advocates that students break free from it. It opposes students doing mechanical, simple, repetitive, and tedious exercises but requires them to complete necessary ones. We encourage students to tackle flexible and diverse problems with broad applications, allowing them to enrich their knowledge, develop skills, and enhance their qualities through the process of problem-solving.
If there is any other success Huanggang High School has achieved, it is that while cultivating and nurturing a large number of outstanding students, it has also forged a strong team of teachers, including renowned educators celebrated in Hubei Province. These teachers possess profound scientific and cultural literacy, innovative educational concepts, unique teaching styles, artistic flair, and remarkable teaching achievements.
To showcase the talents of Huanggang High School's teachers and share their teaching results, we have organized a team of frontline core teachers from the school to meticulously plan and compile the "Huanggang High School Homework Series," "Huanggang High School Exam Papers Series," and the "Huanggang High School 2006 College Entrance Exam Two-Round Training Series."
The "Huanggang High School 2006 College Entrance Exam Two-Round Training Series" adopts a "full simulation" format to highlight its features. Whether in open-ended or conventional problem types, the quantity and difficulty of the questions are designed to closely align with the college entrance exams, emphasizing innovation and practicality.
To address the different time periods and characteristics of the first, second, and third rounds of the college entrance exams, we have categorized the training questions as follows: the first-round questions are designed as unit exercises, the second-round questions as thematic exercises, and the third-round questions as simulated test papers. This series comprehensively and progressively addresses the problems students encounter during their three-round review process from three perspectives and levels.
Part of the content of this series is derived from internal teaching materials and exchanges with friendly schools, while the other part consists of newly added materials based on recent changes in college entrance exam questions, now compiled and published for the first time.
This series also embodies the following writing philosophy and features:
1. Appropriate exercise positioning: Based on the chronological order of the review stages, the exercises in this series focus on consolidating and improving the knowledge points, question types, and methods relevant to the exam. The complexity and difficulty of the questions gradually progress toward the college entrance exams in a step-by-step manner.
2. Detailed solution hints: The answers at the back of the book are appropriately detailed, with more thorough explanations provided for difficult problems. The well-placed hints throughout the series often serve as the "" (highlighting the key point) in guiding students.
This series emphasizes the originality and quality of the questions written by the authors. Rigorous review and proofreading processes are implemented at every stage to strive to make it a unique gem in the educational supplement market.
