Is the data from 4D color Doppler ultrasound accurate for determining gender?

Patient's question:

I am 5 months pregnant, and my family all hopes this is a son. Rural areas are quite feudal and insist on having a son. When I was 3 months pregnant, I went to the hospital for a check-up. The doctor said it was too early to see clearly and told me to come back for another check-up at 5 months.
What kind of help do I need: Is the gender determination through a 3D ultrasound scan accurate?

Doctor's answer:

4D ultrasound can observe the growth and development of the fetus in the uterus from multiple directions and angles, providing accurate scientific evidence for early diagnosis of congenital external malformations and congenital heart diseases in the fetus. Past ultrasound equipment could only examine the physiological indicators of the fetus, while 4D ultrasound can also check the external features of the fetus, such as cleft lip, spina bifida, brain, kidney, heart, and skeletal malformations, to enable early treatment. Generally, the gender of the baby cannot be viewed from 4D ultrasound data, but after the twelfth week of pregnancy, the gender of the baby can be seen through ultrasound. However, medical fetal gender determination is prohibited in China.
