Features: Preface Southeast University Architectural Design and Research Institute was established in 1965 and is one of the earliest architectural design institutes among institutions under the Ministry of Education. Over the 40 years of its struggle and development, Southeast University Architectural Design and Research Institute has always adhered to Southeast University's motto of "rigorous, pragmatic, united, and striving forward," working diligently, earnestly, and truthfully, contributing a large number of practical, economical, aesthetically pleasing, and distinctive outstanding architectural design works to society, while cultivating and nurturing a large number of outstanding talents. Through the unremitting pursuit and efforts of several generations, the institute now has nearly 300 permanent employees, with over 90% being various types of engineering and technical personnel, including 55 first-class registered architects, 44 first-class registered structural engineers, and 37 other registered engineers and cost engineers. It possesses engineering design and consulting qualifications in architecture, highway, municipal engineering (roads and bridges), cultural heritage planning and design, intelligent building (system engineering), power industry (thermal power generation), and municipal engineering (landscape architecture and drainage). In 40 years, the institute has maintained the characteristics of a university-based design institute, strengthening the integration of production, education, and research, and has undertaken over 1,000 engineering design projects across 20 provinces, cities, and autonomous regions in China. Especially since the reform and opening-up, with the rapid development of the national economy, the institute has undertaken the design work for many large-scale construction projects, with hundreds of projects winning various levels of outstanding design awards. The Nanjing International Exhibition Center, the Wuhan University Humanities Science Building, and the Nanjing University Sino-American Cultural Exchange Center have received the National Outstanding Design Silver Medal; projects such as the Huai'an Zhou Enlai Memorial Hall and the Shaoxing University of Arts and Sciences New Teaching and Experimental Building have won the National Outstanding Design Bronze Medal. Additionally, the institute has received 22 outstanding design awards from the Ministry of Construction, 49 from the Ministry of Education, and 33 from Jiangsu Province. The times have given architects a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. The prosperity and strength of the nation, the advancement of science and technology, and the improvement of people's living standards have created countless opportunities for architects and provided rapid development opportunities for the architectural design industry.
