Features: A newly married couple living in a cramped apartment in a bustling city, long admiring Tibet and repeatedly moved by the rumors of the natural scenery along the Sichuan-Tibet Road. They finally escaped their busy daily routine on their honeymoon, embarking on a journey to fulfill their dream before modern civilization fully took over Tibet. Due to insufficient mental preparation for the hardships of the journey and carrying too much luggage, they drove their family's Fukang car through the mountains and plateaus between Sichuan and Tibet. Along the way, they experienced countless unprecedented adventures on the "national highway" filled with potholes, ponds, high embankments, mud, and landslides: debating life while seated in the car compartment carried on the back of a truck, rescuing a stuck car from the edge of a cliff amidst flying hail, crossing the highest pass on the Sichuan-Tibet South Line by riding over deep snow-filled trenches over a meter high in the darkness of a hundred-li stretch with no people in sight, and bravely struggling through a muddy road hundreds of meters long to conquer the last dangerous section of the Sichuan-Tibet Road. When they arrived at the majestic Potala Palace, their hearts were filled not only with the enjoyment of the original beauty along the way but also with pride in having overcome the difficulties and completed this great journey with their car. On the way home, the two began planning their next dream destination, only to encounter a car accident due to carelessness. After surviving the ordeal, they witnessed another bloody car accident scene, and the stark contrast between life and death led them to realize the Zen of life. This book is written in a diary format, interspersed with the editing of recordings, containing the most authentic and firsthand information and feelings from the journey. It not only meticulously records the scenery, road conditions, and observations along the Sichuan-Tibet Road but also frankly shares the author's inner journey with readers, making it the most comprehensive and detailed account of a car-driven experience along the Sichuan-Tibet South Line.
