Features: This book consists of three parts, forming the following content: Part "Xu Shoubai on Porcelain Selections." It adopts several key sections from "Yinliu Zhai Shuo Ci" (On Porcelain) by Xu Zhiheng of the Republican era, namely body and glaze, colors, painted designs, inscriptions, vases and jars, cups and plates, miscellaneous utensils, and flaws and fakes. The original book was a stone-printed edition from the Republican period. It is now punctuated, segmented, and simplified in characters. Xu Zhiheng, styled Shoubai, had a studio named Yinliu Zhai. The content of this part can be considered as introductory knowledge for collecting ancient pottery and porcelain.
The second part, "A Fool's Thoughts on Collecting Porcelain," introduces not only Xu's "Preface" but also includes a chapter on the history of porcelain, a chapter on stories of collecting porcelain (containing seven stories that the author considers highly typical), and a chapter on porcelain introductions, forming essential historical knowledge for collecting ancient porcelain.
The third part, primarily composed of two chapters—"Gathering Fragments" and "Observations"— features the author introducing famous porcelain kiln sites and porcelain pieces he has seen. The content leans towards comprehensive knowledge, reflecting the highest level of appreciation in collecting ancient porcelain.
