A significant portion comes from the newly revised edition of a large-scale corpus-based dictionary, reviewed and approved by domestic and foreign experts.
6. The dictionary lists synonyms, antonyms, and derivatives of phrasal verbs at relevant entries, further aiding learners in understanding and acquiring phrasal verbs.
7. At the end of the main text, there is a particle index that summarizes the meanings and usage of particles appearing in phrasal verbs. It categorizes the phrasal verbs collected in the dictionary according to the meanings of the particles, providing a useful tool for students to understand new phrasal verbs continuously.
The compilation of this dictionary was supported by the encouragement, guidance, and assistance of many experts and teachers. The renowned linguist, Mr. Wang Zongyan, wrote a lengthy preface for the dictionary and reviewed drafts of letters A, H, I, J, and T. Professor Chen Yongpei from the School of Foreign Languages at Sun Yat-sen University set aside his work and devoted significant time to meticulously reviewing the entire manuscript. Dr. Paul Meara, the former president of the British Association of Applied Linguistics and a lexicography and corpus consultant for Longman Publishing Group, reviewed the initial draft of the English definitions and example sentences. Here, I extend my heartfelt gratitude and respect to them.
