Does this mean the due date will be 2 weeks earlier?

Patient's question:

I have a few questions. My last menstrual period was on 4/15, and if I calculate 40 weeks from that date, my due date would be 12/20. However, the ultrasound has consistently shown the baby to be two weeks larger than expected. Does this mean my due date would also be adjusted by two weeks, making it 12/6?

Doctor's answer:

Generally speaking, the estimated due date is calculated by adding nine months or subtracting three months from the first day of the last menstrual period, and adding seven days to the date. Therefore, your estimated due date should be January 22nd of the following year. If the baby's head is relatively large, it may lead to an early delivery within two weeks, but this situation does not change the estimated due date. The above advice is for the question "I want to ask a few things, the last menstrual period was on April 15th." I hope it helps you. Wishing you good health!
