Features: This book is the final one in the basic stage of Swahili language learning and serves as a transition to the advanced stage, functioning as a bridging. In the writing process, we have considered both reinforcing the fundamental knowledge and skills learned in the previous books while preparing students for the advanced stage. The following arrangements have been made in the writing process:
1. The selection scope is broad. Most of the materials are compiled from different Swahili-speaking countries in East Africa. They were carefully selected after thorough research on their content and systems, aiming to provide students with an understanding of the different dialects, linguistic styles, and expressions of Swahili in various regions. Some teaching materials that have proven to be effective after decades of practical use have also been selected and refined through editing and abridgment.
2. Diverse themes and content. The text covers general and background knowledge of Swahili-speaking countries, including politics, history, economy, culture, and religious beliefs, offering good knowledge and readability.
3. The language has a certain depth. Some texts feature rich expressive forms in word usage or sentence structure. In addition to the Swahili sentence patterns and idiomatic expressions presented in the texts, two commonly used proverbs are added at the end of each text, which students are required to memorize and master.
4. The difficulty of the exercise section has been increased. The exercises are numerous, diverse in content and format, further strengthening the cultivation and training of practical skills such as reading comprehension, translation, writing, and comprehensive summarization, making it easier for students to smoothly transition to the advanced stage.
