Features: This series of "Contemporary Essays" is a part of the "Baihua Essays Series." It selects renowned and outstanding essays of writers since the founding of the People's Republic of China in 1949, organized into individual volumes for each author. The selected authors are all famous essayists of that era, and the chosen works are carefully curated to reflect the development of each author's literary style. Each volume begins with an extensive critical preface of over 10,000 words, briefly introducing the author's life and analyzing and evaluating their artistic characteristics, creative evolution, and influence, in conjunction with the essays selected in the book. The selected works are annotated with their original publication sources and dates where possible; necessary notes are provided for particularly challenging sections. Throughout history, how many exquisite essays, like pearls, have shone brilliantly! The "Baihua Essays Series" may not claim to have strung them into a necklace, but here they are no longer scattered pearls but are now more accessible for reading and appreciation. The selected chapters focus primarily on lyrical and narrative essays; their themes range from society and life to parting emotions and flowers. The styles are diverse, encompassing both grand and vigorous as well as subtle and reserved. The series is extensive and inclusive. Though the "Baihua Essays Series" may not be called a "Treasure Collection," the works included still hold considerable brilliance and inspiration. The "Baihua Essays Series" includes the "Ancient Essays Series," "Modern Essays Series," and "Contemporary Essays Series," all published in individual volumes for different authors.
