Features: This is one of the collections of Sanmao's works. Sanmao's real name is Chen Ping, born on March 26, 1943, in Dinghai County, Zhejiang Province. She graduated from the Philosophy Department of China University of Culture. She studied abroad in Europe and, after marriage, settled in the Canary Islands of the Western Sahara Desert. She wrote a series of beloved works based on the local life. After returning to Taiwan in 1981, she taught at China University of Culture before resigning in 1984, focusing on writing and speaking. She passed away on January 4, 1991, at the age of 48. Her footsteps spanned the world, and her works were widely read in the global Chinese community, as well as in mainland China. She left behind a rich body of life works and translations, totaling twenty-four volumes. Sanmao's English name is ECHO. "Sanmao" was originally a pen name, and in the preface to her book Record of a Noisy School, it is mentioned that "Sanmao" hides an I Ching hexagram, but the exact mystery remains unknown. However, Sanmao herself once said: "The reason I chose this name was that it was unremarkable, and another reason was that I considered my writing mediocre, only worth three cents." Sanmao was born on March 26, 1943 (February 21 in the lunar calendar), in Chongqing, Sichuan. From a young age, Sanmao showed a love for books. At the age of five and a half, she was already reading Dream of the Red Chamber. During her junior high school years, she read almost all the world classics available at the time. In her second year of junior high, she took a leave of absence and was taught by her parents, laying a solid foundation in poetry, classical Chinese, and English. She later studied painting under two painters, Gu Fusheng and Shao Youxuan.
