Patient's question:
Recently everything has been quite normal, and I haven't noticed anything unusual. However, while taking a shower, I noticed small, around my nipples. I don't know what this could be. Could you tell me what it might be?Doctor's answer:
You can check if it's due to an allergy of the clothes to the skin and it's recommended to go to the hospital for a detailed examination. Some early-stage breast cancer patients, although they cannot feel a clear lump in the breast, often experience local discomfort. Especially for postmenopausal women, sometimes they may feel mild pain or discomfort in one breast, or heaviness and aching discomfort in one shoulder and back, even extending to the upper arm on that side.2. Early-stage breast cancer can be felt as a bean-sized lump inside the breast, which is relatively hard and movable. Generally, there is no obvious pain, but some may experience occasional dull pain, aching pain, or sharp pain.
3. Changes in breast shape: The skin over the lump may appear raised. In some cases, the local skin may resemble orange peel, or even show edema, discoloration, or eczema-like changes.
4. Nipple retraction near the center. The breast skin may have slight indentation (medically known as "inverted nipple"), nipple erosion, nipple asymmetry, or thickening and roughening of the breast skin with enlarged pores (medically known as "orange peel syndrome").
5. Nipple discharge: If the discharge is bloody or serosanguineous, further examination should be given special attention.
6. Regional lymph node enlargement, with axillary lymph node enlargement being the most common. Enlargement of supraclavicular lymph nodes already indicates advanced stages. So don't worry too much and stay relaxed.
