Features: This textbook consists of 15 chapters, each covering a communicative topic. The homepage of each chapter provides a brief description of the English communicative level that PETS Level 2 candidates should achieve. Each chapter is divided into several units based on the topic, with each unit covering a part of the communicative situations related to the topic. The textbook contains 30 units, each including:
1. Dialogues
Several dialogue materials are designed based on the theme of the lesson. The dialogues strive for realistic scenarios and natural, appropriate language, primarily used for training listening and speaking skills. Each dialogue is preceded by one or two sentences that set the context, helping learners understand the dialogue.
2. Texts
Each lesson represents and embodies a specific topic. To aid in comprehension, 3 to 5 small questions are provided at the end of each text.
3. Vocabulary and Phrases
Words and phrases that appear in the dialogues and texts are listed, along with their International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA) symbols, part of speech, and Chinese translations, in the order they appear in the dialogues and texts.
4. Notes
The notes address both the dialogues and texts, covering two aspects:
- Pointing out difficulties in grammar and vocabulary.
- Providing grammatical analysis of long and complex sentences, along with examples to explain linguistic points and knowledge, aiming to train candidates in flexible language application.
5. Exercises
The exercises are carefully selected from past exam questions and related materials, aligning with the PETS Level 2 exam syllabus to facilitate preparation.
6. Supplementary Readings
To help candidates gain a deeper understanding of related topics and improve reading skills, a supplementary reading is provided at the end of each unit.
At the end of the textbook, there are 6 appendices, including:

The accompanying MP3 CD includes recordings of dialogues, texts, new words, after-class listening materials, and supplementary reading scripts, which can be played on computers, MP3-enabled CD players, VCD players, and DVD players.
