Patient's question:
I got married to my current husband a year ago, but we haven't shown any signs of pregnancy yet. I would like to consult the experts about which hospital would be best to go for this check-up. What kind of tests are generally required for this check-up? Thank you.Doctor's answer:
1. Determine if the woman has ovulation: Blind diagnostic curettage is not recommended.2. Hysterosalpingography (HSG): Usually performed in an outpatient setting, it helps assess the internal condition of the uterus and fallopian tubes, including whether they are patent.
3. Tubal patency test results: Tubal fluid perfusion is not recommended without clear indication.
4. Hysteroscopy: Allows simultaneous evaluation of the endometrial condition and fallopian tube patency. Tubal fluid perfusion is not recommended blindly, as repeated procedures not only fail to aid diagnosis or treatment but may also cause infection and endometrial damage.
5. Laparoscopy: Can assess pelvic adhesions and simultaneously perform fallopian tube patency testing, but requires anesthesia and hospitalization.
