Can pubic symphysis diastasis be treated?

Patient's question:

I am 32 weeks pregnant. Since my 20s weeks, I've been experiencing severe pain in the pubic area. Now, walking, sitting, and sleeping all cause significant pain. Two days ago, I visited a gynecology clinic and they told me to get an injection, though I'm not sure what kind of injection it is. The doctor said it would take two or three days to improve, and if it's not treated, it might be difficult to deliver.

Doctor's answer:

Hello, you can first take some X-rays to see if it's sacroiliac joint dysfunction. If it is, it can be treated. The treatment involves bone setting, and there are currently two methods: traditional Chinese bone setting and American chiropractic. The latter is more scientific and effective. Regardless of which method you choose, it's important to find a good and knowledgeable doctor. Needling is definitely not a solution. However, it is recommended to have the treatment after giving birth, especially during the childbirth process, when ligaments loosen and the pelvis opens slightly to allow the baby to be delivered smoothly. Most women can return to their original position after delivery, but some may not. This condition will not affect a natural birth. Lateral and anteroposterior X-rays of the lumbar spine and pelvis can confirm the diagnosis.
