Patient's question:
Severe cervical erosion, pelvic inflammation with fluid accumulationDoctor's answer:
Patients with moderate to severe cervical erosion, for whom drug treatment is ineffective and prolonged with high costs, are advised to use physical methods for better efficacy.Physical methods destroy the epithelium on the surface of cervical erosion, causing it to necrose and fall off, allowing new squamous epithelium to cover the area. This process typically takes about 6 to 8 weeks, during which the cervix becomes smooth. Common methods include electrocautery, cryotherapy, laser, and LEEP.
Precautions
Treatment should be scheduled 3 to 7 days after the menstrual period ends. This is because the cervix has a certain degree of wound after treatment, and if it coincides with the menstrual period, it may lead to infection. Therefore, patients should come to the clinic as soon as possible 3 days after their period ends.
