Seventeen years ago, I had cervical erosion. Which hospital is better?

Patient's question:

Not pregnant, severe erosion

Doctor's answer:

It is recommended to regularly perform TCT tests when financially feasible.
Physical therapy is commonly used to treat cervical erosion, with a variety of methods available, such as drug therapy, physical therapy, and surgical treatment. Vaginal medications are often traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) or a combination of TCM and antibiotics. These medications typically have effects such as clearing heat, drying dampness, reducing swelling and pain, promoting blood circulation, and regenerating muscle tissue. They are non-invasive, easy to use, and well-tolerated by patients, making them suitable for mild cervical erosion.
For moderate to severe cervical erosion, drug therapy is often ineffective and time-consuming, with high costs. It is advisable to use physical methods to achieve better results.
Physical methods destroy the epithelial tissue on the eroded cervix, causing it to necrose and fall off, allowing new squamous epithelium to cover the area. This process typically takes about 6 to 8 weeks, after which the cervix becomes smooth. Common methods include electrocautery, cryotherapy, laser therapy, and LEEP.
Precautions
Treatment should be scheduled 3 to 7 days after the menstrual period ends, as the cervix has a certain degree of trauma after treatment. If the menstrual period coincides with the treatment, it may lead to infection. Therefore, patients should come to the clinic as soon as possible 3 days after their period ends.
Three days before surgery, sexual activity should be avoided. Individuals with acute reproductive tract infections should be cured before undergoing the procedure.
