Can you have sexual intercourse the day after follicle puncture?

Patient's question:

My menstrual cycle has always been irregular. In September, I was diagnosed with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and fallopian tube adhesion. I underwent laparoscopic surgery for follicle puncture and fallopian tube correction and have been recovering ever since.
On November 28, I had my period, and on December 2, on the fifth day, I had an ultrasound which showed the largest follicle was only 5x7 mm. I started taking clomiphene citrate tablets and conjugated estrogens tablets, and received five days of urofollitropin injections. On the 9th, I had another ultrasound (the first picture), received an ovulation-inducing injection, and was told to have intercourse on the evening of the 10th.
This afternoon, I had another ultrasound (the second picture), which showed no ovulation and that the follicle was still growing. The doctor said I must have the four follicles punctured, otherwise I won’t be able to get pregnant in the future. So, I had the puncture done, which was a bit painful.

Doctor's answer:

After follicle puncture, ovulation occurs.
Advice:
If you have intercourse today and your fallopian tubes are unobstructed, the chances of pregnancy are very high. It is recommended that you undergo timely examination and treatment. There are many reasons for follicle puncture, and patients need to seek immediate medical attention. It is advised to go to a reputable hospital for treatment. Pay attention to the progression of your condition, avoid indiscriminate treatment, and prioritize self-care. Maintain a balanced diet, stay clean, and best wishes for your recovery!
