Features: This book is one of the outcomes of the National Natural Science Foundation of China Key Project "Strategies of Multinational Corporations in China and Countermeasures of Chinese Enterprises" (Project Approval No.: 70132010) led by the author. As early as the mid-1990s, during the author's overseas research visit, they recognized the importance of studying the issue of multinational corporations' withdrawal from China and conducted some research. Around 2001, the author selected "Research on Multinational Corporations' Withdrawal from China" as the thesis topic for PhD student Jiang Dunfu. In February 2002, the author and Jiang Dunfu published a literature review titled "Contemporary Theories of Multinational Corporations' Withdrawal and Their New Developments" in Journal of Sichuan University (Philosophy and Social Sciences Edition), upon which subsequent research was based. In June 2003, Jiang Dunfu's PhD thesis titled "Research on Multinational Corporations' Withdrawal from China" passed its defense and earned the author a PhD degree. Building on Jiang Dunfu's doctoral thesis, this book has enriched and updated theoretical research, adjusted the chapter structure, and supplemented empirical studies and case analyses. The author utilized materials collected during their visit to Japan to write Chapter 8 of this book. Dr. Zeng Guojun assisted the author in organizing, supplementing, and conducting case research for the book's materials. Through investigations of enterprises such as the in Hefei, Anhui, the Houjie Power Co., Ltd. in Dongmei, Guangdong, and the Peugeot Auto Co., Ltd. in Guangzhou, six cases were written, along with the existing case study of the Sanjiang Sanyo Kelon in Shunde from Jiang Dunfu's doctoral thesis, forming Chapters 6 and 7 of this book. This expanded the original PhD thesis of over 80,000 words to the current approximately 260,000 words.
