Features: On November 11, 2005, the 7th Asian Arts Festival and the Ministerial Forum on Asian Culture were held in Foshan, Guangdong. To welcome this unprecedented cultural event, Foshan Media Group took on the important responsibilities of operation, promotion, and publicity. Among them, Foshan Television Station, under the group, pioneered by sending six production teams to countries such as Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Brunei, the Philippines, Vietnam, Laos, Japan, Mongolia, Sri Lanka, India, and Nepal in the weeks leading up to the festival. These teams conducted in-depth interviews and reports on the Chinese communities living in these countries, producing a dozen or so TV series featuring personalities, folk customs, landscapes, and culture. At the same time, thanks to this opportunity, the group specifically assigned writers from its affiliated units to travel with some of the production teams. They compiled the observations, thoughts, and feelings shared during the interview process into written form, eventually creating a valuable book. This became an in-depth outcome of the cross-media expedition, more comprehensively and profoundly conveying the Asian insights and reflections of media professionals, and extending the Asian perspective of Foshan people.
