Features: The 21st century is the century of human progress towards knowledge and informatization. People are increasingly aware that information is one of the four major pillars of social resources, alongside material, energy, and capital. "Knowledge is power, and information is wealth." It is hard to imagine how an organization system would function without the flow and transmission of information, or how you would make choices among multiple options without the representational information of those options. In fact, information is a crucial basis and powerful tool for people to understand the world, govern society, manage organizations, and make decisions. As an emerging interdisciplinary management discipline, Information Management primarily focuses on studying the flow, development, transformation, processing, storage, transmission, and utilization of information within and outside organizational systems. How to transform natural, unordered information flows into ordered, usable information resource flows is the primary challenge faced by Information Management. During the writing process of this book, we focused on this point. We first provide a detailed introduction to the basic concepts and knowledge of information and systems, then discuss information resources and information resource management. For the management of information resources, we introduce general management theories and control models, and also explain the role of information science and information technology in information management. As a paradigm for the management and utilization of information resources, we have specifically written a chapter on economic information management, which can also be considered a case study in information management. Finally, the book discusses modern systems theory, as the deeper manifestation of the role of information theory will ultimately occur within modern systems theory. The primary readers of this book are information management personnel in enterprises and institutions, as well as teachers and students in higher education institutions. This book can serve as a textbook for the course of Information Management, as well as a reference for relevant personnel to understand information and master the principles of information management.
