Features: The book "Modern Analysis of Value and Wealth" was written by some faculty members and graduate students of the Social Science College of Shanghai University, based on their specialized research on labor, labor value, and wealth issues in the context of economic globalization and the improvement of China's socialist society. The preliminary discussion on the book's theme began in the summer vacation of 2002. The Economics Teaching and Research Office of the Social Science College held a specialized symposium titled "New Perspectives on the Study of Labor Value Theory under the Socialist Market Economy" by the shores of Taihu Lake. The conference conducted interdisciplinary exchanges and dialogues from multiple perspectives—economics, philosophy, and ethics—centered on inheriting and developing the labor value theory. The book is based on the papers submitted by the participants and relevant articles by some graduate students of the Social Science College. Weng Zhiyong restructured and adjusted the overall framework and logical coherence of the book, integrating the widely diverse and multifaceted independent articles into a cohesive academic work that is comprehensive in scope, clearly organized, highlights new insights, and offers both readability and innovation.
