Features: For years, I have longed to own a book like this. The music enthusiasts I know often struggle to find these materials, troubled by the awkwardness of time running out. The reason for this is that no music dictionary can comprehensively list the specific birth and death dates, locations, and premiere dates and locations of composers' works. For these scattered yet important references, we must spend a lot of time and effort searching through various books, periodicals, or articles about record releases, often ending up exhausted and unable to find what we need. In reality, these materials and the entire history of music form an inseparable system, an indivisible whole. Therefore, for many years, I have been accumulating them—starting from the era of small notebooks to the computer age. The content of this book is a gradual accumulation of records. It is meticulous yet grand, precisely because it is indispensable to complement large-scale music dictionaries. The reason is that no music dictionary can comprehensively list the specific birth and death dates, locations, and premiere dates and locations of composers' works. For these scattered yet important references, many music professionals and enthusiasts must spend a lot of time and effort searching through various books, periodicals, or articles about record releases, often ending up exhausted and unable to find what they need. In reality, these materials and the entire history of music form an inseparable system, an indivisible whole. Through nearly a decade of effort, the compiler of this book has collected and compiled information from various music histories, biographical dictionaries, manuals, compendiums, annuals, biographies, and other literature, as well as from records, tapes, and laser discs published by major international record companies. The book includes a total of 6,870 music-related entries (including 4,966 entries for birth and death dates of composers, performers, directors, singers, musicians, vocalists, music theorists, and educators; and 1,914 entries for the premiere dates of musical works). In addition to classical music, it also incorporates jazz, rock, country music, and the folk music of our country, as well as related materials about composers. Each day features a new entry, arranged in chronological order. At the end of the main text, there are two classified indexes: "People" and "Premieres." This book, accessible to both the elite and the general public, should serve as a comprehensive and pure record of dates in the history of music. The compiler of this book is passionate about music, stamp collecting, art, photography, literature, and collecting. He has published over 200 articles on printing technology, stamp research, photography, and music criticism. Currently, he serves as a special editor for the Music Lovers magazine, the founder of the China Music Network website, and the overall moderator of the Music Art Forum. This is a book that one can turn the pages of every day, not only providing valuable information but also adding a touch of surprise and joy to important moments in life. It can be considered a fascinating reference tool with reference value, practical use, and collectible value.
