Features: Based on students' foundational knowledge in clinical internal and external medicine and various specialty nursing, this textbook enables them to understand the new developments in emergency nursing and enhance and enrich their knowledge and skills in traditional Chinese emergency nursing. The specific teaching objectives include:
(1) Clearly describe the emergency medical service system and the current status and development of emergency nursing;
(2) Clarify the significance, characteristics, tasks, principles, and methods of pre-hospital emergency care;
(3) Clarify the principles of emergency department construction and management;
(4) Possess relevant management knowledge of intensive care units;
(5) Be able to quickly admit patients, rapidly identify emergencies, and proactively assist doctors in rescuing common acute and critical conditions and crises;
(6) Master common emergency techniques such as cardiopulmonary resuscitation, defibrillation, and endotracheal intubation;
(7) Use emergency medications reasonably and provide targeted medication monitoring.
During the teaching process using this textbook, three stages—lectures, observation practice, and clinical internships—can be arranged. Lectures should select content carefully, highlight key and difficult points, and adopt an inspirational teaching method that combines theory with practice, fully leveraging students' subjective initiative to cultivate their ability to analyze and solve problems. Appropriate introduction of the latest developments in this discipline domestically and internationally can reflect the level and research directions of modern emergency nursing. Observation practice can adopt various forms, such as case discussions, emergency technique training, teaching ward rounds, and multimedia-assisted teaching. Clinical internships are a continuation of learning to provide holistic patient care by integrating theory with practice, serving as a crucial stage for cultivating and improving innovative thinking and independent work abilities.
