Features: In recent years, Chinese photography has made significant progress. The ranks of photographers have grown steadily, and their works have achieved remarkable success both domestically and internationally, enabling them to engage in equal dialogue with the global photography community. From the late 19th century to the mid-20th century, artistic photography, as the mainstream of photographic creation, exerted a profound influence in China and around the world, giving rise to numerous artists and timeless masterpieces in this field. However, many questions remain to be addressed: How can Chinese artistic photography further learn from and integrate the experiences of international artistic photography while expanding its global reach? How can China better understand international artistic photography, and how can the world become more aware of Chinese artistic photography? These issues require summarizing experiences, careful reflection, and theoretical exploration. In light of this purpose, in October 2004, the China Photographers Association and the Lishui Municipal People's Government of Zhejiang Province jointly organized the "China International Art Photography Advanced Forum" during the Lishui International Photography Culture Festival. Over 40 renowned domestic and international photographers and theorists participated in the forum, engaging in extensive research and intense discussions on topics such as the current state of photography both domestically and internationally, the challenges of digital photography, photographic aesthetics, nudes photography, and landscape photography. More than 20 experts presented papers with forward-thinking and constructive insights during the forum. Although participants held differing artistic views, they reached consensus on many issues, and the discussion outcomes demonstrated high academic rigor and authority. The theoretical works of the participants have now been compiled into this collection and published for reference by domestic photographers and photographic theorists.
