What are the types of immunological infertility?

Patient's question:

Hello doctor, I recently heard that many couples have difficulty getting pregnant due to immune infertility, so I would like to learn more about this condition to avoid experiencing it myself.

Doctor's answer:

Immune infertility generally refers to a condition where the body produces an immune response to any of the antigens in the hypothalamic-pituitary-ovarian axis. This disease is usually not easily detected shortly after marriage, often only becoming apparent after prolonged infertility. It occurs when sperm is immunized by sperm antibodies or when eggs are immunized, preventing sperm from normally combining with eggs to form a fertilized egg. There are typically three types: allograft immunity, local immunity, and autoimmune immunity.
