Patient's question:
Detailed medical condition and purpose of consultation: Left lower back pain for over a year, with right abdominal pain occasionally occurring in the last two weeks.Duration and persistence of the current illness: Two weeks
Current general condition: Abdominal pain also causes pain when walking.
Medical history: History of pelvic effusion.
Previous diagnoses, treatments, and outcomes: Ultrasound revealed a 3.02.0 CM cyst in the right ovary. Antibiotics were administered, but there was no significant improvement. This cyst is benign.
Doctor's answer:
Hello: The only treatment for ovarian tumors is surgical resection. For cysts with a diameter of less than 5 to 6 cm, observation for 3 to 6 months is recommended. If the cyst continues to grow, or if the tumor has a diameter of less than 5 cm but is solid, surgical resection should be performed. For children and young, nulliparous patients, unilateral oophorectomy or unilateral adnexectomy is often adopted. If the bilateral ovarian tumors are benign, the doctor may consider ovarian cystectomy to preserve as much ovarian tissue as possible, thereby maintaining menstrual and fertility functions. Laparoscopic surgery has smaller abdominal incisions and a faster recovery.
