Features: Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) has a unique theoretical system, with the holistic concept and syndrome differentiation and treatment being its two major characteristics. Only by mastering the method of syndrome differentiation and treatment under the guidance of the holistic concept can clinical conditions be effectively addressed. Therefore, to achieve the above goals within limited study hours, in addition to essential TCM basic theories such as the theory of Yin-Yang and the Five Elements, Zang-Xiang (organs and their manifestations), meridians, etiology and pathogenesis, diagnostic methods, prevention, and treatment principles, as well as Chinese herbal medicine and formulas, the focus of the writing is placed on syndrome differentiation and treatment, acupuncture and moxibustion, and the prevention and treatment of common diseases. Compared to the previous two editions, the proportion of clinical courses in this textbook has increased from 32.6% to 45.4%. In this edition, there have been significant changes in the section on Chinese herbal medicine compared to the previous two editions. The earlier editions adopted a single-herb writing method, and the section on Chinese herbal medicine accounted for 26% of the total book length, yet it still felt insufficient for clinical applications. This time, after introducing the definition, common functions, main indications, and compatibility of each category of herbs, a tabular format is adopted for herbs of the same category. Each herb's functions and main indications are arranged in a comparative manner. This writing method, which highlights the commonalities of different categories of herbs while also considering the individual characteristics of each herb, not only increases the variety of Chinese herbal medicine but also reduces the, making it more beneficial for teaching.
