Patient's question:
Can ultrasound be performed three months ago? Will there be a possibility of teratoma? In recent times, sometimes there is a feeling of discomfort in the lower right abdomen, but it doesn't seem like pain. Is this normal?Doctor's answer:
Color Doppler ultrasound uses the principle of ultrasound to examine the fetus in the uterine cavity. It is not X-ray, and all probe examinations are transient, causing minimal harm to the fetus. However, if your fetus has no abnormalities, frequent color Doppler ultrasound is not necessary. If symptoms such as vaginal bleeding or miscarriage occur, you can undergo a B-ultrasound examination. Generally, the entire pregnancy involves three B-ultrasound examinations. In the early stage (around 40 days), one examination is performed. In the middle stage (22-26 weeks), a 4D color Doppler ultrasound screening is conducted. In the late stage, a B-ultrasound is primarily used to check the amount of amniotic fluid and whether the umbilical cord is wrapped around the neck.
