Features: The importance of Elements does not lie in any of the theorems it proposes. Almost all the theorems presented in the book were already known before Euclid, and many of the proofs used were also known. Euclid's great contribution lies in organizing these materials and providing a comprehensive systematic exposition in the book. This includes the first appropriate selection of axioms and postulates (a very difficult task requiring extraordinary judgment and insight). Then, he carefully arranged these theorems so that each one logically follows from the previous ones. Where necessary, he also supplemented missing steps and flawed proofs. It is worth mentioning that Elements, while primarily a development of plane and solid geometry, also includes a significant amount of algebra and number theory content. Elements has been used as a textbook for over two thousand years. Among all written textbooks, it is undoubtedly the most successful. Euclid's outstanding work made earlier similar works pale in comparison. After its publication, it quickly replaced previous geometry textbooks, and the latter were soon forgotten by people. Elements was originally written in Greek and was later translated into many languages. It was first published in 1482, more than 30 years after Gutenberg invented movable-type printing. Since then, Elements has been published in over a thousand different editions. In terms of training logical reasoning, Elements has had a greater impact than any of Aristotle's works on logic. In terms of a complete deductive reasoning structure, it is an outstanding example. For this very reason, thinkers have been captivated by this book since its publication.
