"Philosophy" originates from the Greek word, meaning "love of wisdom," which combines "love" and "wisdom." Love requires an open heart, while wisdom comes from the trials of life. Therefore, every person's life holds philosophical significance. Viewing life with wisdom and breadth is the fundamental meaning of philosophy. Life is full of untapped potential. In most cases, what we call limitations are merely self-imposed constraints. Just as medical research centers on healing, philosophy centers on people's happiness.
This book helps everyone re-examine their lives in a simple, accessible, and philosophically rich language, offering eight pathways—treatment, happiness, achievement, release, awakening, control, purification, and existence—to make life more fulfilling and enriching. Changing the way we perceive problems and cultivating a positive and optimistic attitude toward life will ultimately lead to success. Wisdom detached from life is empty, and life without wisdom is blind. As a philosopher once said, "All phenomena in life are philosophical. If humans act and speak with philosophical thinking, happiness will follow closely like a shadow."
Author Wang Marinoff is the president of the American Association of Consultants. The organization is a non-profit educational institution that encourages people to practice philosophy in daily life and solve various life challenges. He believes that many societal problems stem from people's lack of philosophical grounding and emphasizes that philosophy is not just a form of thought but practical wisdom gained through practice. In the face of numerous issues troubling society and individuals, he advocates using philosophical inquiry and methods to help people improve themselves and seek solutions.
