Features: This book is based on the 2004 edition of the Japan Foundation's test standards and provides detailed, bilingual (Japanese-Chinese) definitions for Japanese vocabulary. It also categorizes and summarizes easily confused words, homophones, polysemes, set phrases, honorific language, and onomatopoeia according to the characteristics of Japanese language exams. The book is equipped with a wealth of warm-up exercises and full-length mock tests, making it particularly suitable for candidates.
In the writing format, considering the different characteristics and difficulties of Chinese learners of Japanese, in addition to character and vocabulary explanations, all Level 1 and Level 2 vocabulary are arranged according to the Japanese Hiragana syllabary, and the exercises are divided into 33 units based on the quantity of content to facilitate learning and consolidation. During the writing process, we noticed that candidates often overlook or confuse certain kanji pronunciation words, as well as vocabulary with easily misunderstood meanings and usage. To address this, we have specifically designed unit exercises in each section that mimic test formats and question types, with self-assessment scores added to each question to help readers evaluate their learning progress.
At the end of the book, two fully simulated mock tests for the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) are included to achieve comprehensive practice. In the back of the book, we have also set up sections such as "Homophones," "Synonyms," "Homophones with Different Meanings," "Difficult-to-Read Words," "Set Phrases," and "Honorific Language." These sections categorize and list all Level 1 and Level 2 vocabulary that follow patterns, can be systematically organized, or are particularly challenging, allowing readers to summarize and self-assess after completing the book.
This book is an indispensable text and vocabulary review resource for candidates preparing for the Japanese Language Proficiency Test. It can also be used as a teaching material for teachers to provide pre-exam guidance to students.
