This book is divided into two parts. The first part mainly collects the policy recommendations submitted to the Chinese government by the 1st to 3rd meetings of the CCICED. These policy recommendations are the main symbolic achievements of the CCICED, embodying the wisdom and dedication of Chinese and foreign experts and scholars from the CCICED, reflecting the historical footprint of the CCICED in sync with China's social progress and economic transformation, and the ideas and concepts expressed in them hold high reference value.
The second part mainly collects three thematic policy briefs written by core experts of the CCICED on topics such as "Environment, Development, and Government—A Response to the World Summit on Sustainable Development," "Comprehensive Construction of a Well-off Society and a Sustainable Industrialization Path," and "Agriculture and Rural Sustainable Development," as well as research reports from five working groups (research teams) of the CCICED. The policy briefs elaborate on the mutual relationship between China and the international community in the fields of environment and development, the challenges China faces, the actions that need to be taken, and future development trends, introducing the latest sustainable development concepts and perspectives of the international community. The research reports of the working groups serve as the basis and foundational research material for policy recommendations, reflecting the working groups' close integration with urgent issues in China's environment and development fields, full utilization of advanced international experience, thorough investigation and research, and the presentation of their unique insights and recommendations tailored to China's national conditions. The high-quality research reports and policy recommendations from the core experts and working groups of the CCICED hold significant reference value.
