Bacterial vaginosis is a disease?

Patient's question:

My girlfriend had two check-ups. The first one said it was a mold infection of degree three, and the second one said it was a bacterial infection of degree three. Is there such a thing as bacterial vaginosis?

Doctor's answer:

Etiology of Bacterial Vaginosis:
1. Indirect Contact Infection
Contacting contaminated public toilet seats, bathtubs, hot tub benches, or towels, as well as using unhygienic toilet paper, can lead to infection.
2. Sexual Transmission
It is one of the causes of the disease, with at least 10% of male partners developing bacterial urethritis if the female has symptoms.
3. Excessive Use of Antibiotics
Antibiotics alter the vaginal microenvironment, allowing pathogenic bacteria to multiply rapidly, leading to localized bacterial vaginosis.
4. Overly Strict Hygiene Practices
Some women, in an effort to maintain hygiene, frequently use medicated douches to rinse their vaginas, which can easily disrupt the vaginal pH balance and make them more susceptible to bacterial vaginosis.
