Features: In the 10th year of the Chengzong era, Daode decade Bingwu (1306), the Hangzhou native Wu Liang compiled the sayings of famous figures from past generations on the topic of "endurance" and historical anecdotes of those who practiced patience, humility, loyalty, kindness, and forgiveness, creating the Book of Endurance with a total of 156 entries. Four years later, in the 3rd year of the Wuzong era, Zhidu decade Gengxu (1310), Xu Mingkui coincidentally authored the One Hundred Admonitions for Endurance in four volumes, comprising 100 entries, becoming the culmination of the study of endurance. The content covers moral categories such as loyalty, filial piety, benevolence, and righteousness, as well as emotional domains like joy, anger, likes, and dislikes, along with aspects such as food, drink, music, and color, as well as reputation and power. It includes both theories, methods, benefits, and key principles of endurance, as well as stories, practices, and historical accounts related to endurance, forming a theoretical and practical system centered on the concept of endurance. Notably, almost every entry contains one or more stories about endurance, making the book highly readable and engaging while also enabling readers to gain wisdom to better navigate life, coexist harmoniously, and achieve a long and fulfilling life. This is also the heartfelt aspiration behind compiling this book of moral teachings.
