How to Use Medication for Irregular Menstruation

Patient's question:

Irregular menstruation, originally with a cycle of 38-40 days. Two months ago, I had uterine fluid accumulation. Last month, it was delayed by 3 days, and I took an ovulation test, but couldn't see any. The doctor said there was fluid accumulation, but couldn't confirm if it was ovulation fluid or uterine fluid. This month, it's been delayed by 11 days and hasn't arrived yet. I have bloating and pain in my abdomen, and recently had an increase in leukorrhea with lower back pain. I thought it would come, but it hasn't.

Doctor's answer:

Irregular menstruation has many causes, which are typically divided into two major categories in clinical practice: one is functional, such as irregular menstruation caused by endocrine dysfunction; the other is organic, such as conditions like pelvic inflammatory disease, endometritis, and endometriosis, which can also lead to irregular menstruation.
Go to the hospital for a check-up and take medication accordingly. In your daily diet, eat more foods that boost qi and blood, or try traditional Chinese medicine for regulating menstruation, such as angelica sinensis (Danggui), astragalus (Huangqi), and Leonurus japonicus (Yimucao). Drink plenty of water, reduce spicy and irritating foods, pay attention to a balanced diet, and exercise more.
Wishing you good health.
